Public Health

Overview

Welcome to the Public Health Program at AIES. This structured program spans four progressive levels—Foundation Diploma, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Professional Diploma. The curriculum explores the foundations of public health, epidemiology, health promotion, and health policy. Students will examine strategies to address global and local health challenges and consider ways to promote community health through education, data-informed planning, and ethical public health practices.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the Public Health Professional Diploma Program, students will be able to:

  • Understand Public Health Principles: Demonstrate foundational knowledge of disease prevention, health promotion, and the social factors that influence population health.
  • Interpret Epidemiological Data: Explore methods for analyzing trends in health and disease using data collection and interpretation techniques.
  • Design Community Health Initiatives: Develop ideas for health promotion programs that support behavioral change and preventive care in local contexts.
  • Explore Health Policy and Ethics: Discuss how public health policies are developed and applied within ethical frameworks.
  • Contribute to Public Health Projects: Understand the principles of planning, coordination, and evaluation in community health initiatives.

This program supports students in developing a well-rounded understanding of public health theory and practice, with applications in education, outreach, and community wellness efforts.
