Introduction to User Experience (UX)

Overview

This two-week course introduces students to the core principles and processes of User Experience (UX) design. Participants will learn how to create user-centered designs by understanding the needs and behaviors of users. Through hands-on projects, students will explore the design process, from research and wireframing to prototyping and usability testing, equipping them with the practical skills to craft intuitive and engaging digital experiences.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the Introduction to User Experience (UX) course, students will be able to:

Course Structure

Duration: 2 weeks
Study Time: 1-2 hours per day (equivalent to 14-28 hours total)

Course Modules

The course is structured into two weeks, with each day offering a carefully designed module that builds on the knowledge from the previous day, ensuring a steady and practical learning progression.

Week 1:

Introduction to UX Design: Key concepts, processes, and industry roles.
User research and personas: Understanding user needs and creating user personas.
User journey mapping: Visualizing user interactions with a product or service.
Wireframing: Creating low-fidelity designs to structure content and user flows.

Week 2:

Prototyping: Building interactive prototypes using design tools.
Usability testing: Methods for testing and evaluating user experiences.
Accessibility in UX: Ensuring designs are inclusive and accessible to all users.
Final project: Design and present a wireframe and prototype for a user-centered digital product.

Assessment

Daily quizzes to reinforce learning.
Final project: Create a wireframe and prototype based on user research and usability testing (50%).
