Program Overview

The Diploma in Business Administration is designed to equip students with a firm understanding of key concepts and practical skills required by employers. Program completion will advance employment opportunities or allow progression into the Advanced Diploma in Business Administration.

The Advanced Diploma offers a strong emphasis on practical skills development alongside the attainment of requisite knowledge and understanding needed for success in business. After completing this highly specialized Advanced Diploma, students can progress directly into employment or further studies in honors or professional courses.

Objectives

  • Familiarize participants with advanced concepts of Business Management.
  • Provide participants with practical skills that are essential for success in the increasingly competitive business sector.
  • Enable participants to gain employment in outstanding local and international job vacancies.
  • Deepen the use of analytic and intellectual skills to enhance decision making skills in dynamic business environments.

Business Administration Program

The diploma and advacned diploma program is designed for those students seeking a two-year rather than four-year degree. The program stand alone but may also be the foundation for further study at the bachelor’s level. The program at AIES are meant to be taken in four semesters and consist of 60 credit hours.

First Semester

BUS 101 - Introduction to Business | 3 credits
BUS 167 - Management Skills | 3 credits
POLI 100 - Introduction to International Politics | 3 credits
COMP 101 - Introduction to Computer Science | 3 credits
 ENG 101 - English Composition | 3 credits

Second Semester

ECON 101 - Introduction to Microeconomics | 3 credits
BUS 110 -  Introduction to Accounting | 3 credits
BUS 237 - International Business | 3 credits
BUS 115 -  Introduction to  Marketing | 3 credits
BUS 232 -  Organizational Behavior | 3 credits

Program duration: Two semesters. Each semester is 5 months long with approximately 40 hours per week.

Assessment methods: In order to complete the program successfully, students will be required to pass all subjects and achieve an overall passing grade.

Certification: To be awarded the certificate you must satisfactorily complete all written contributions. Successful students will receive a Certificate, awarded by the Board of Studies of AIES. A transcript detailing the course will be issued to successful students.

First Semester

STATS  231 - Quantitative Methods | 3 credits
BUS 320 -  Business Law | 3 credits
BUS 288 - Business Psychology | 3 credits
BUS 378 - New Venture Design | 3 credits
