Course Description

This course focuses on the application of information technology and data systems to improve public health outcomes. The course covers key topics such as health data collection, management, and analysis; electronic health records (EHR); disease surveillance systems; and the use of informatics tools for decision-making in public health practice. Students will learn how informatics can enhance public health monitoring, data sharing, and program evaluation. The course emphasizes the role of data-driven approaches in improving population health, policy-making, and healthcare delivery.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understanding the Role of Informatics in Public Health: Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how informatics tools and technologies are used in public health to collect, manage, and analyze health data for disease surveillance, health monitoring, and decision-making.
