Current Issues in Health and Community Services

This course focuses on the contemporary challenges and trends affecting healthcare and community services. This course explores issues such as healthcare reform, mental health, aging populations, health disparities, and the increasing role of technology in healthcare delivery. Students will analyze how social, economic, and political factors shape healthcare policies and community service initiatives. The course emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving to address current health and community service challenges, preparing students to respond to evolving needs in healthcare.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Understanding Current Healthcare Challenges: Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the major issues affecting the healthcare system today, including healthcare reform, access to care, and rising healthcare costs.
• Exploring Health Disparities and Social Determinants: Gain insights into health disparities and the social determinants of health, and how these factors influence community health and service delivery.
