Course Description

This course explores the nature, causes, and treatment of psychological disorders. This course examines a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and other significant psychological disturbances. Students will learn about the diagnostic criteria outlined in the DSM-5, the biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors that contribute to mental illness, and the various therapeutic approaches used to treat these conditions. The course emphasizes understanding abnormal behavior from multiple perspectives and developing empathy and awareness regarding mental health issues.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understanding Psychological Disorders: Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of various psychological disorders, including their symptoms, causes, and diagnostic criteria as outlined in the DSM-5.
