At AIES, we are dedicated to fostering a learning and working environment where every individual is respected, valued, and treated equitably. This Non-Discrimination and Inclusion Policy outlines our commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for all students, staff, and partners.

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that AIES maintains an environment free from discrimination, harassment, and exclusion. We are committed to providing equal opportunities for all individuals regardless of their background or personal characteristics.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all students, staff, instructors, partners, and centers affiliated with AIES. It covers:

    Fair and equal opportunities in recruitment, hiring, promotion, and retention of staff and instructors.

    Inclusive access to all AIES programs, services, facilities, and resources.

5. Harassment and Bullying

6. Reporting and Resolution

If any student, staff member, or partner experiences or witnesses discrimination, harassment, or exclusion, they are encouraged to report the incident as soon as possible. AIES is committed to addressing such matters promptly and thoroughly.

Step 1: Reporting the Incident

  • Reports can be made to a supervisor, instructor, or the AIES administration.
  • Complaints can also be submitted through the official reporting channels (e.g., email or a dedicated online form).
  • Reports should include details of the incident, the individuals involved, and any supporting evidence.

Step 2: Investigation

  • Upon receiving a report, AIES will initiate a confidential investigation led by an impartial team or designated officer.
  • All parties involved will be given the opportunity to provide statements and present any evidence.
  • The investigation will be conducted fairly and with respect to the privacy of those involved.

Step 3: Resolution

  • Based on the findings, AIES will take appropriate actions, which may include:
    • Mediation or conflict resolution sessions.
    • Disciplinary actions, up to and including dismissal from AIES programs or employment.
  • The outcome will be communicated to all parties involved.

7. Protection Against Retaliation

AIES strictly prohibits retaliation against any individual who reports discrimination, harassment, or any violation of this policy. Retaliation includes any adverse action taken against a person for filing a report, participating in an investigation, or standing up for their rights. Any person found guilty of retaliatory behavior will face disciplinary action.

8. Training and Awareness

To ensure the effective implementation of this policy, AIES will provide ongoing training and resources to all members of the community. This includes:

  • Diversity and Inclusion Workshops: Regular sessions to promote understanding and awareness of diversity issues.
  • Anti-Discrimination Training: Mandatory training for staff and faculty on preventing and addressing discrimination, harassment, and bullying.
