Context of Healthcare Delivery

This course examines the structure, organization, and challenges of healthcare systems, focusing on how healthcare is delivered in various settings. This course covers key topics such as healthcare policies, healthcare financing, access to care, quality of care, and the role of different healthcare providers. Students will explore how social, economic, political, and technological factors influence healthcare delivery, with an emphasis on health disparities, the patient experience, and the future of healthcare systems. The course also addresses the role of public health in improving healthcare outcomes and ensuring equitable access to care.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Understanding Healthcare System Structures: Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the organization and function of healthcare systems, including the roles of hospitals, primary care, public health agencies, and specialized care providers.
