General Safety

This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of workplace safety across a wide range of industries. This course covers essential safety topics, including hazard identification, risk assessment, accident prevention, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency preparedness, and safety regulations. Students will learn how to develop and implement general safety programs that protect employees from common workplace hazards and ensure compliance with occupational safety standards. The course emphasizes proactive safety practices and the development of a safety-first mindset in all workplace activities.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Understanding Basic Safety Principles: Students will gain a thorough understanding of general safety principles, including hazard recognition, accident prevention, and the role of safety management in protecting workers.
• Identifying Workplace Hazards: Learn how to identify and assess common workplace hazards, including physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic risks, and develop strategies to minimize their impact.
• Implementing Safety Measures: Gain skills in applying general safety measures such as the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe work practices, and emergency response protocols to ensure worker safety.
• Ensuring Compliance with Safety Regulations: Develop knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA requirements, and learn how to implement programs that ensure workplace compliance and reduce the risk of accidents and injuries.
