Understanding Diversity and Inclusion

This course explores the concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the context of community development. This course examines the importance of creating inclusive environments that respect and value differences among individuals. Students will learn about various dimensions of diversity, including race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and socioeconomic status, and how these factors influence community dynamics and development. The course emphasizes strategies for promoting inclusivity, addressing bias, and fostering equitable practices in community settings through case studies, discussions, and practical exercises.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
