Parent and Family Development

This course explores the critical role of parents and families in the development and education of young children. This course examines the dynamics of family structures, parenting styles, and the impact of family involvement on children’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Students will learn strategies to support and engage families in early childhood education settings, fostering positive relationships between educators and families. Through case studies, discussions, and practical applications, students will gain the skills to work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to enhance child development.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Understanding Family Dynamics: Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of diverse family structures, cultural backgrounds, and parenting styles, and how they influence child development and learning.
